IAAF

International Association of Athletics Federations
They are the World governing body of the sport of athletics, based in Monaco they are responsible for organising the major World Championships, Grand Prix events and the AF IAAF Golden League.

European Athletics Association
They are the governing body for athletics in Europe, they are based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

They are the governing body of the Olympic Movement, they are responsible for the organisation of the Winter and Summer Olympic Games, they are based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

UK:Athletics
They are the governing body of the sport of athletics in Great Britain, they are based in Solihull, Birmingham.

England Athletics, AA of Wales, Scottish Athletics, NIAF

They are the governing bodies that represent the home nations of the United Kingdom. England Athletics are based in Birmingham, (England Athletics) East Midlands Region are based at Loughborough University.

Midland Counties Athletic Association
They are part of England Athletics, which is divided up nationally by region of which Leicestershire comes under the Midlands, they are based in Birmingham.

L&RAA

Leicestershire & Rutland Athletics Association
They govern athletics in Leicestershire, they are responsible for the organisation and administration of the various county championships, leagues and events, they also organise the various schools athletics leagues and championships.
