Athletics-leics.com – RSS News Feed Service

RSS News Feed

ATHLETICS-LEICS.COM has available an RSS News Feed service, this is a service you can subscribe to which will automatically update with the latest content from your chosen website.

Once subscribed to an RSS News Feed you need take no further action than browsing the latest headlines and deciding whether you would like to visit the website to read more.

What is RSS?

In a world heaving under the weight of billions of web pages, keeping up to date with the information you want can be difficult. Wouldn't it be better to have the latest news and features delivered directly to you, rather than clicking from site to site?

Using RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows you to see when sites from all over the internet have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and articles (or even audio files, photographs or video) in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to remember to visit each site every day.

RSS takes the hassle out of staying up-to-date, by showing you the very latest information that you are interested in. RSS feeds are just a special kind of web page, designed to be read by computers rather than people. It might help to think of them as the free, internet version of the old-fashioned ticker-tape news wire machines.

How do I subscribe?

The first step to subscribing to an RSS News Feed is to install a news reader.
The following are some popular newsreaders.
Windows
- Newz Crawler, FeedDemon, Awasu, FeedDemon
Mac OS X
- Newsfire, NetNewsWire, Amphetadesk
Web
- Bloglines, My Yahoo!, NewsGator, BlogLines
You can also use a web browser such as Firefox to access RSS News Feeds.

Although it can differ from one newsreader to another the most common method of subscribing to an RSS feed is by pasting or dragging the address of the feed found below into the newsreader

In order to use this feed the user has to first of all download from the web what is called a news reader or aggregator – there are many free news readers available for download on the web; for example, Sharpreader available at:

www.sharpreader.com/
